“What is Movember?”, I hear you say, well this link explains all -> http://www.movember.com.au/au/whatismov/ , in short, it’s a way of raising money for important causes such as Prostate and Testicular Cancer and Mens Depression… I grow a Mo (moustache) during the month of Movember and beg people to sponsor me in the process. :) Check out the site for the full drum – www.movember.com.au

I'm doing it again this year, but I've vowed to go bigger and better still. I had my last full shave on Tuesday and the Mo is starting to take shape. Is anyone else on the forum doing it/heard of it/interested in having a go (its not too late to start you know)?

I've included a pic below of last years effort, it was taken about 3 weeks into the month of Movember. Yes, even my Nanna said I looked dodgy :)

I'll post a pic for you of this years Mo when it starts to evolve, and, if you think it is worthy, details of how you can sponsor my Mo and help these very worthy causes.

Cheers,

Simmo

yeah heard about it last year from a few different sources and saw some very dodgy mo's. My dad had prostate cancer earlier in the year so my interest is personal.

Will give it a shot but have dodgy facial hair as it is, so could take me to very late november to get anything half dodgy.

wish me luck.

BTW - very smooth there Simmo. Last year I would have been inclined to sponsor you to cut your fringe and those waves at the back of your head :-).

S77,
See my link a few weeks back!
http://www.backyardaquaponics.com/forum ... t=movember

I should have known that you are a movember pro.

I am in and have about 15 people at work and at clients workplaces registered in our team.

So far we have raised around $600 in our team alone - people are very generous when it comes to men's health issues.

I was planning on posting update photos every week.

I am in it as well at work probably about 12 or so of us Mo Bro's taking part. We raised $300 alone to get one guy to shave his beard and take part. Three of us have hit the $200 mark, it is a great cause. You can go online and submit a donation via credit card. As usual all donations over $2 are tax deductable. Myself, I will be lucky if i get a mo going before January, so I thought why not...

Nice work ppl can't wait to see the results, yeah sorry I haven't seen many posts in the last coupla weeks due to being busy with work... I've got some serious catching up to do.

All part of the package VB - lol... We had a group of around 12 IT guys and engineers at my old work who raised a total of over $5000. Great fun, I reckon there will be a heap of dodgy looking dudes walking around at the end of the month, so many people have stepped up this year, it's fantastic!

So here we are... 2 and a bit weeks into Movember and the Mo is coming along nicely...

I'm making sure I'm in tip-top Mo growing form too, by eating a healthy breakfast every morning (see the attached pic), and making sure I keep my fluid intake up (which is what I've been doing since lunchtime today :occasion5: ). hic...

Here are some progress pics of the Mo for you all, not too shabby for 2 and a bit weeks, and not as bad as some I have seen around (my brother is doing it too and he looks like Matt Dillon from Theres Something About Mary, but much, much worse).

Like I said, I'm going bigger and better this year, and have grown the sideys out to match. BTW - No aqua ingredients on the brekky table this morning, something I hope to remedy soon... If you think it is worthy of donation, please go to Please go to http://www.movember.com/au/sponsor, enter my Rego number which is 33367, and your details. The money raised by Movember will be used to change the face of men's health by creating awareness and funding research into prostate cancer and male depression.

Cheers,

Simon

P.S. - Nick, FJ, how are your Mo's going...? or any other Bro's out there? Post pics please...! :)
