In the article you quoted Cyara, the author wrote:
HR 875 defines "food establishment" (among other things) as any "facility ... that processes food or a facility that hold, stores, or transports food or food ingredients." The bill also defines "food production facility" as "any farm, ranch, orchard, vineyard, aquaculture facility, or confined animal-feeding facility."
Totally incorrect... and misleading by context....
Nope ....only you are trying to mislead.... quoted exactly as defined in the Bill.... FOOD ESTABLISHMENT.... and FOOD PRODUCTION FACILITIES
FFS.... The author YOU quoted Cyara.... deliberately ran those two sections together.... directly as quoted by you... and directly quoted by me from YOUR post....
DO NOT MISREPRESENT ME AGAIN'!!!@!
IT IS NOT AS WRITTEN OR DEFINED IN THE ACT...
And yes Cyara... I downloaded it, read it,... and linked to it for the purpose of RATIONAL DISCUSSION
AND FAITHFULLY QUOTED OTHER SECTIONS FOR THAT SAME PURPOSE.

The law is aimed at “Food establishments” – facilities where food is actually processed and packaged, where food-borne illnesses begin. Indeed, there’s a subsection under “Definitions” (Section 3) that would exclude farms from the onerous regulatory provisions of the law.
Yeah... right! You really do make up stuff as it suits you ROO!
No AGAIN Cyara... this came from the article you quoted and links within it....

(13) FOOD ESTABLISHMENT (A) The term ‘food establishment’ means a slaughterhouse (except those regulated under the Federal Meat Inspection Act or the Poultry Products Inspection Act), factory, warehouse, or facility owned or operated by a person located in any State that processes food or a facility that holds, stores, or transports food or food ingredients.
(B) EXCLUSIONS: For the purposes of registration, the term ‘food establishment’ does not include a food production facility as defined in paragraph (14), other retail food establishments, …
(14) FOOD PRODUCTION FACILITY – The term “food production facility” means any farm, ranch, orchard, vineyard, aquaculture facility, or confined animal-feeding operation.”
Exactly........... from
REGISTRATION as FOOD ESTABLISHMENT.... But definitely listed as FOOD PRODUCTION FACILITIES
What the.....
For the purposes of registration... as a food establishment......
For the purposes of registration, the term ‘food establishment’
does not include a food production facility as defined in paragraph (14), …
It then goes on to explicitly define a "food production facility"
And other sections again state that registration for such is not required...
HOW CAN YOU POSSIBLY READ IT ANY DIFFERENTLY...

Yippee! Can really trust these guys to watch out for Joe Citizen! Organic is so popular with Agri-Business.

If H.R. 875 becomes law:
• Each food production facility – would have to have a written food-safety plan describing “the likely hazards and preventive controls implemented to address those hazards.”
• Farmers selling directors to consumers would have to make their customer list available to federal inspectors.
Federal inspectors would be authorized to:
• inspect food production facilities to make sure the producer is “operating in compliance with the requirements of the food safety law;”
Heaven help you if there is any enfringement.... you read the fine to be imposed ROO? ..... used to be so easy to just grow food and sell it.... less health issues too.... funny that...

This part of the exclusion of farms from the onerous regulatory provisions of the law you spoke of earlier ROO?
Quote:
• conduct “monitoring and surveillance of animals, plants, products, or the environment, as appropriate;”
Going to be very busy people...
Quote:
• access and copy all records to determine if food is “contaminated, adulterated, or otherwise not in compliance with the food safety law or to track the food in commerce.”
... and never display any hidden agenda... all dealings with the public to be fair and just...
Quote:
Under the existing Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetics Act, the FDA can only inspect farms that produce food destined for commerce across state lines.
HR 875 changes this – all production and commerce becomes “interstate.”
Aaaah! Tighter control.... all for the good of the people of course ROO?
Quote:
Section 406 provides: “In any action to enforce the requirements of the food safety law, the connection with interstate commerce required for jurisdiction shall be presumed to exist.”
You actually read before you post? Or just shoot from the hip....
YES I DID... AND INCLUDED IT PRECISELY TO SHOW THAT ITS PURPOSE IS FOOD SAFETY
AND THEN FOLLOWED WITH ANOTHER POST THAT SUGGESTED THAT IT IS ALREADY IN PLACE IN AUSTRALIA AND NZ...AND MANDATED (IN ANOTHER POST) BY AGREED INTERNATIONAL ACCORD UNDER THE AUSPICES OF "WHO"
Very rarely do I get impolite in discussions Cyara ....
But if dont play the ball .. instead of the "man"....
And discuss the issues....
OR INSULT ME OR MY INTELLIGENCE ONE MORE TIME...
I'll go for you with both barrels and call a spade a shovel.....
You've got to be kidding me... dimwit
