Hi all. I've been seeing rubber mulch advertised in local hardware stores. Do you guys think this is a possible growbed media?

Hard to say. Rubber from old tyres would contain a lot of nasties that would leech into the water.

Tyres are stable normally but degrade under uv (and wear) don't know who came up with the daft (imho) idea of turning them into mulch.

I know they use them for septic leach fields as a media for bacterial growth, so must not be too toxic for bacteria. Think that means safe for us and fish? Hmm....maybe not.
