So here's one for you. I send a message to a dude about an item on ebay that I'm interested in. It ends tomorrow morning. I get a message back telling me that the item is sold. That's strange I'm thinking, since I'm currently the highest bidder. Shits me to tears.

Nup - I'm still the highest bidder as we speak!

They probably sold it in the classifieds today. Not sure how they will go about getting it off ebay, since I have a bid in (as did one other). I expect they will just outbid me and pay the commission. If I had the balls - I'd bid a ridiculously high amount to make them pay more to outbid me and therefore more commission. I won't though, cos there is always the risk of them getting the product back to sell to me at the ridiculous price

anyone had any experience with these pumps? Are they a water pump and air pump all in one? It doesn't really explain it that well?

Taz

Looks like a water pump with a venturi air intake on the outlet side.

Thanks, yeah that's what I thought. But the other outlet threw me. After having another look, there's a little plug shown in one of the pics that I am assuming is to plug up the additional outlet. Then I guess you can swap the outlets and not use the venturi? What's the advantage of this? Does it help airate the watr being pumped? For $20 I couldn't see it lasting to long!

Most powerheads and cannister filters have a venturi fitting. Frank would probably consider them a restriction on the pump, they do provide some aeration so I am undecided. Price is about right or a little over for a pump that size. Have a little cannister filter/pump in the aquarium put my own venturi on it been going for years (sometimes you get lucky) :)
