make sure you do something with that ladder......................

maybe a hinged system with a rope, so it can live in the tank and be drawn up and over by an adult?

Actually It is concreted into the botttom of the tank so there will be no moving it! It is in so if anyone happens to fall in, they can get out. The ladder on the outside has been removed to reduce the temptation of Jaymie spending all day looking at the fishies! And to stop people falling in.

Hi mike,
I'm after a nice sized (round) tank, some extraneous piping (especially solar heating type), solar powered pump.......

We've just gone back and looked at the photos and they don't show the internal ladder very well at all, so try this from a few weeks ago...

File comment: This is the ladder before the concrete, we were also aiming for a permanent water feature, but he got away!

Jeez Jaymie - you are sure going to need some fish to get the Nitrate levels up in those beauties.

just stock them WELL in advance to planting out. that way the NO3 can accumulate till you're happy with the PPM level. Then its a basic feed to plant ratio to keep it stable. But yes, even that way, it will take a while.

At 60PPM thats 60mg/L or 6g / 1000L or 60g per 10000lt of dry nitrate

Better off just letting it take a while to get the nitrate up than overstocking and not having enough beds to handle the fish. Other option would be to grow some fish up to a bigger size to pass onto others if there is interest in your area.
