hi all..

i humble ask for advice on a few pumps... and not sure of what i will need..

i am looking at a chift pist system and would love some advice on what size of pump to use..

at this stage.. there will be an ibc as ft and 3/4 of one as a sump... the head will be about 2 metres..

there is a couple here locally... one is 8500l/h and the other is 4500l/h... being 230 and 90 watts respectfully..

can i get away with using the smaller pump???... or should i really spend the extra and get the bigger one??

thanks for any advice and help!!!

Do you have the pump curve data losthippy.... you might find that one of the pumps might not pump 1000L/H at a 2m head....

And you'll need to pump that rate (IMO) in order to supply 2 growbeds and turn over your tank volume once an hour...

I know Unistar do a lot of aquaria related equipment... pond pumps, air pumps and chillers...

Another thing to look for is whether or not the pump is capable of handling solids/soft solids to 10mm... if you're pumping from the fish tank...

And whether or not the pump is continuously rated.... if you're going to use a timer based system, then this doesn't apply...

Also make sure that it isn't oil lubricated... as failed seals will leak oil into your system, with possible fatal results...
