The water was dumped from the quarantine ibc, and replaced with fresh water (ran out of salt though, will add more tomorrow).
We kept 6 "dinner" fish aside to put in the ibc for, well for dinner









We also removed the 4 rainbowfish that have survived in the tank for 2 1/2 years, and put them in the redclaw tank with some other rainbows. Hopefully they will breed in there. You can just make them out in the second picture.

This is just some of the crap that was removed from the bottom of the tank. Hope you don't find the same stuff.

looks like it was a damn big fish, hope the tanks water change will solve the issue of fish deaths for you

Bloody good lot of fish.... and the "plate sized" ones look great guys... did you get a weight for them??

Some of those bones are fish whats the other ones [the larger ones] also was there much sludge in there

no, too busy doing it all quickly, umm a lot? close to a kilo

I think all of them are fish bones. There wasn't much sludge at all. There is some shellgrit that has made it's way from the sump.

Far out that was quite an episode

So after getting a close look at all of the fish do you have any clues as to why the others were dying? Parasites, heavy metals, or something else? The dinner fish look very nice!
