I've got a couple of old planter tubs like what you might get from the gardening section from B. They're sitting around doing nothing, so I thought I might use them to isolate the rampant mint and Vietnamese mint. The only thing that concerns me is are they safe to use, as I imagine they may not be food grade.

Any ideas?

Got know idea what they'remade of Ryan... but you're not going to be keeping fish in them... and many people use a variety of other plastic tubs for growbeds...

So I'd tend to think they might be OK...

Just be ware that over time those planters can become quite brittle and could break or crack eventually.

The look similar to the ones I used in my pond.
Goldfish, yabbies, silvers and mint have been going well for the last four months.
Give em a go!

these sort of tubs have been used for ages to grow food in soil...

the warnings are to protect the sellers.... as with water tanks... they cant be seen to promote them as food safe cos if there was a problem in the design of the substances used they would be liable at a later date... i guess..

the qld councils promoted the installing of water tanks then quickly told ppl they were not to be used for human consumption..

there is a saying in qhealth... it is "I CARE"

unofficially it means

Cover
Ass
Retain
Employment.
