Having said that... I guess I was assuming in normal operation...

As the system is cycling... the nitrogen and phosphorus content might bump a nitrosomonas (nitrite) bacteria spike... depends how much was used... :don't know:

Watch for the bloom... :lol:

It wasnt premix.. I read 20ml per 9lts so figured it would be over 2 litres of seasol if i used that quantity normally... I used about 4-5ml per 9 litres figuring it would give the plants a get up and go... :)

Oops...just realised I'd stuffed up the original readings..

Should have been

Nitrite 0.25
Nitrates 5.0

I'm guessing thats a huge difference :)

Should I still add some salt anyway?

Ph - 7.8
Ammonia - 0.25
Nitrites - 0.25
Nitrates - 5.0
Water temp 17oC

They are good jumpers. You will have to drop your water level to about 50-100mm below top.

Yes I have been out there doing that.... I have also started putting up the shade cloth to cover the whole system on the warmer days... I'll post some pics soon.
