that's sad. :-(
the media has kindly been censoring us from stock and human fatalities.
The lost stock I have seen has been very upsetting, along with these trout photos :-(
It brings it home how bad it truly is up there. I don't know how my emotions could get worse, but I'm glad even on the net nobody has shown human fatalities.
A friend's father has been tasked with recovering bodies. I wish him all the failure in the world, It must be truly an horrific job.

Actually... I'd forgotten about the trout farm out there.... Troutman....

Yep, the statistics for wildlife deaths must be pretty horrific as well....

Request has been put out for Workboots and hairbrushes, these seem to be in short supply.

Black rage fire is traveling north, all towns North have been told they will not be directly impacted. At least that's one that will burn itself out. ;-) I received word late last night that a Neighbour had checked the property and that the house and shed have been spared. vinyard and fences were not investigated.

i have spent the last few days working to pack and send clothes, toiletries, pots, pans and food to victoria..

the amount of stuff we had to go through was incredible for such a small area..

we had to find clothes suitable for funerals which was quite .......well u can guess...

we had to go thru it all to check for "inappropriate" content..... which was sad but this is the age we live in...

i will appoligize for the forest scented candle i was told to pack.... but i was able to "misplace" a booklet on how to survive bushfires...... some people have no idea...or their just #!%^holes.....

ohhh... and if i could i would have happily packed and sent the $%^** rain!!!!

hope all the members and families are safe and not in need of any of the stuff that was sent...

take care

When things were settling down after Black Saturday I don't know if I posted it or not but I certainly thought it. This is not over.

We evacuated yesterday afternoon from the fire near Daylesford but thankfully the west wind pushing the fire towards us turned to the south and made the Fire do a right angle turn about 4km from us.

Got home this morning to find everything fine but our little hamlet which is normally pretty quite was very still. No real evidence at first glance but after closure inspection there are bits of burnt leaves, bark and twigs scattered all over. Once you have seen one you can't help seeing them every where.

Bad news is that it is now burning out of control to the north. This is bad for obvious reasons if you live North of Daylesford but it is also bad for us because for every metre it goes north the more likely it is to come back at us with the North wind on Friday.

Good news is that we won’t be around to see it because we will be leaving Thursday night at the latest. So in the absence of further communication we will be fine.

Winds from the north west today so we will be leaving early this morning (after sunup). Fire is controlled but is about 4km west and 8km north west of us.

We will be fine because we are leaving early.
