I thought of this early on.
You can get stackable crates that would hold 0.3 metres of gravel, that sit atop crates that hold 600-1000L of water.
You can get food grade crates.
They're ultra tough, as intended to be moved via forklift.
As there are gaps for getting your hand in and servicing FT, the gb could sit on the ft, no need for a stand. - Much like Joel's basic system, just more compact.
If one had a forklift, you could stack heaps of these crates atop each other and keep yabbies too.
Only problem I found was the cost was prohibitive.

I'm looking at the same thing as what your talking about KP, inside measurements are 107x107x80cm high. There is enough room to get your hands into the bin, they are double lined thou, but tuff as bricks when full! :wink:

they make them 300, 600, 1000, and 1200 tall, or something similar. Would work as GB too ;-)

The 1000L ones that were available ended up selling for around $330... ah well... maybe next time.

Just make sure you can fill them with water and they will take it.. We tried what is called a "vintage bin' looks similar to the nylex ones, and they were used in the grape industry, but when it came to filling with water the sides bowed..

those nylex bins are sweet as. We have one and no bowing at all, they are double skinned and insulated.

EB, there are varieties especially designed for storing liquid stock. Seems you got one that wasn't :-(
The one's I've seen look like those 500mm square storage crates you get from places like Ikea, all ribbed on the outside, not going to bow in a pink fit.

The ones i'm looking at are used by Kraft for holding cheese and other liquid products weighing over 900kg net. :cheers:
