Firstly, compliments to RupertofOz for the delivery and install, very professional Mate, thank you!

System is the 1000L courtyard system that most of you are familiar with, i've had it a week, and am enjoying the experience greatly.

Here's the Man himself, obviously loving his work ;)

Image

System fully installed, see how well it fits between the door and the tiled area, like it was built to fit!

Image

Here's a cucumber sprouting from seed in only 4 days

Image

Bean planted at same time

Image

No fish at the moment, but I was lucky enough to find 5 freshwater mussels in the tank after the install (thanks Mate!)

Will update the thread as things develop, current readings (not cycled yet)

PH 7.6
ammo .25
nitrate 0
nitrite 0

Things to do : get battery backup/trickle charge/automatic switchover organized, will search the forums, but can anyone recommend something i can just

buy, plug in, attach battery and not worry about wiring anything up myself?

Get waterproof box, cut hole to match outside powerpoint, fit and silicone (PP is waterproof, but timer not as much ;))

Head to bunnings for salt/chelated iron/urea etc, as i'm starting from scratch, all I had around was some seasol.

Wait for cycle, add fish, I can't wait :)

Steely

Ahhhh.... OK... two can play that game...

Here's Neil... doing the "hard" work.... told him work wouldn't proceed further until he'd undergone a formal initiation...

Just realised Neil.... I didn't actually get a shot of the completed system...

Will organise some fish for you when I'm next up that way...

Hehehe, i knew you'd post those soon enough, and I'd thought unloading all that hydroton was my initiation? ;)

I'll get a better picture of the system as it is now when the sun comes out (doesn't look like that'll be today however).

Oh, and by the way, i'd done one of those ties up too tight on the pump tubing, it split, you were so right about having the tube at the opposite end to the power, had to shorten it a bit, and in doing so, the other end came off the pump (this was on the monday after sat install, my first HSM came early lol), only mentioning it as i discovered the trick of getting the pipe back on that pump-barb, boiling water or a lighter applied to the tube will expand it enough to get in on properly, hope that might save some stress if you run into one of those pumps again Mate :)

Good news on the fish too, cheers!, can't wait to get cycled and start growing some fish!

Welcome, looks good. You'll be able to run some shadecloth from the wall when you get some sun. 8)

In fact.. she was so miffed about it.. I had to dry her off and paint a bikini on her before she'd let me take any shots....

Took me hours...
