sorry JT, just messing with your head!

A friend of ours is home now for a month before heading back to Lombok for work. He's in Oz maybe 2-3 months of the year all up. I think he just comes back to drink some homebrew and see some football.

we had an blackout for 3 or 4 hours the other night, but if the tank had been occupied, there was heaps of wind and the aerator would have done its job (all hypothetical at this stage of course

Well you got to figure most reasons the power goes out is because of a strom and a strom means wind. Also rain which will help airate as well.

So today i made a great discovery. People here will give me duck weed by the bagfull for free!!! yeah so now I have about a kilo of duckweed floating around in the "duckweed growth bin".

Now for the update:
About a the day the site went down i bought soem starter fish. Real cheapy's 5 golide for the small tank and 11 in the big bintang tank. The system is going ok minus the leak i sprung about 3 days back and the 5 goldies turning up dead. Other than the leak and some small deaths (cats were happy) all is going good tomorrow the gravel all goes in and then its time for some veg.

JTJF,

great news about the duckweed, just be mindful if you want to use it as a free feed source for your fish. GD has mentioned previously that it does and EXCELLENT job of stripping heavy metals out of water.............problem is that they endup in the duckweed.

Just know where your duckweed is comming from, thats all. :)

Yeah the system is up and Going!!! other than springing a leak last night (oops pulled to hard on a connection) the system has been running great.

We got a tonne of rain last night and my half full sytem was overflowing this morning.

Now all i have to do is get some coco peat wash it down real good and i will have all growbeds online.

One question does anyone have a good way to stick plastic to a fiberglassed form. It just wont hold and i have tried everything i can buy here. Next stop ACE hardware the land of dreams here in bali bc it is way to expesive for us ordinary folk to shop at but they speak english so off i go.

As a last resort - I assume Sikaflex would do it (it's a silicon sealant). Muzz loves the stuff.
