We currently have new seasons silver perch available. They are pretty small, about 1 gram, approx 30-35 mm but they should grow fast. They have been heath tested and have a completely clean bill of health. They are feeding like mad. We are having a special until the Adelaide meet on the 7th of March. Prices are .85 cents per fish plus a bagging fee of $15 per bag. Quantities over 300 price can be negotiated.

If anyone in Melbourne would like fish, please PM Live Beyond or myself. Dean will be acting as a fish holding and central distribution point if anyone wants any. We will be coming over on the 12th so no freight costs if you order before then.

After the 7th of March, this price schedule will change. Prices do not include freight, but we can transport to everywhere that Qantas fly except WA unless you have a permit, and they would need to be quarantined I think. At the size they are now, we could comfortably ship 200 per bag.

I'd be interested, but a little concerned about their size this late in the year when i have exposed tanks. Bsd they fine with the cold snaps when young?

I think that's why they're cheap... it'll be hell of a year for everyone trying to raise them that young! but then again monya did say that they're feeding like mad so they may grow quite fast.

Nah - sorry, just taking the piss at the presentation of the figures by stu's. It's all good - I reckon it's a fantastic deal. If not for the fact that I need to bring my system down until Xmas once the Barra are finished - I'd be in boots and all.

Could you grow out say 20 silver perch, and 20 trout together in the same tank over winter?

Yes shore the only thing at the end of winter you would only have trout

if you want high survival rates I would suggest yuou have to heat them at this size to say 16 degs over winter to keep them feeding. Otherwise, you need overwintered fingerlings which will be dearer.

And +1 for the trout food.

These fish will nearly triple their size in the next three months prior to winter. Monya my last lot I got from you are sized between 100-120mm now, feeding about 3 times a day. Their health are excellent.

Snakes
With a divider in the tank to stop mingling between the Trout and SP you could. The Silver Perch will feed a little, but still be at a good starting size when it warms up in spring.

YES you can, and I did. As long as the Trout are kept well fed they dont snack on the silvers.

I lost two trout, and two silvers early on due to trout snacks.

Your main problem is keeping very small silvers alive with water temps heading towards 5 or 10 degrees. They are very fragile.

Anybody know of good cheap gas heaters? there is NO way I'm installing a heater for 6kl of exposed tanks.
