I totally agree i am keeping silvers but i don't think its very humane to let their water get to 35 deg if i have ways of stopping it. My poor fish have been having a spa for over a week now with their water temp in the 30s. They are healthy and eating but tails are getting a bit ragged they have to stress out eventually. Just how warm have people had their silvers for extended periods of time?

I'm with Jaymie on this one, A counter flow chiller.

And seeing as you are in Adelaide, try here: http://www.beerbelly.com.au/beerequip.html about half way down the page.

Good point!
As my silvers where still eating at 34 degrees, I assumed they were happy.
Might have to look into installing viewing porthole like yours!

I have often thought it would be neat to borrow a hydro drill and drill a couple 30 meter holes and placed a pvc heat exchanger in the ground. If the pumped water was passed through the ground its bound to stay cooler?

Great looking tommies scott! I was surprised with how well all the AP handled the heat. Even the sweet corn and melons in full sun were unaffected
