Ahh sorry... I changed lingo mid post, my apologies :-(

It's the red lava rock they use on gravel tennis courts. You can get other kinds of scoria though, depends on where it's mined. Red stuff has more iron.

been working on the final design.....

the layouts are a little confusing... but its a layout to show how to construct the walls... its to scale and to within 1/8 of an inch....

I will break down the layers to show the different parts.....

the first pic is the end view of the existing GH... showing all the parts that will
make up the system.... the grey thing is the door the orange things are the shape
of the GH. the long blue thing in the back is the FT, the blue box on the bottom left is the ST, the main GB and Bottom GB's are also shown.

the ST is 14" Deep, and sunk into the ground, the FT is sunk into the ground 6" just to make it easier to get into...

the black things are the SP's which connect and drain into the ST

I will be using a sort of stressed skin walls that are insulated.... with double walls which hopefully to stabilize the water temp a little better....

I have left about 28" for a walk way on the right side...

Well I thought it might be about time to start showing pictures from the begining....

I have started pre-fabing the FT Sides so they will be ready when the GH is ready to convert over to the AP system...

the first few pics will be the GH from the ground up....

another month or so and the GH will be cleaned out and all existing tables, dis-assembled and the AP system started...
