I'm looking to plan a weeks holiday between the Grand Prix and The Melbourne Flower and Garden Show.
Hobbies include aquaponics, gardening, rock 'n' roll dancing, meeting people, having the odd glass of wine or two.
If you know of something worth seeing or doing I'd love to hear about it. I'll have to bring my camera though.
If its aquaponics related it could end up in the Aquaponics magazine!!!
Eddy, (Dear husband) will be at the Grand Prix with the boys and I'll just have to amuse myself. Ooooh dear.
Dates are around Thurs 26th March - Thursday 2nd April. Any ideas you can pm me.

There's plenty of wine over here.
I have an AP system
GP's boring so I'm available

There are some lovely drives... The Black spur rainforest, the great ocean road.
Bot gardens are nice, along with the annoying fruit bat colony we seem not to be able to get away from.

Vic Market is a must, largest undercover market in the southern hemisphere.

I'm told the observation deck in the new tower is excellent, it has a glass floor so it feels like you're standing on air.

Melbourne Zoo's meant to be one of the best in the world, they do Twilight Jazz there, which my mother says is fantastic.

Ummmmmmm... I'll have a think.

Oh yeah, if driving the black spur, there's a something like 8 Vineyards along the way.

My mates house almost burnt down in the recent bushfires. 2 of his neighbours lost their homes. Bad time of year atm for bonfires :-(

(I know that's not what you meant, just made me think of them)

Perhaps the best thing to do in Melbourne is spend the weekend in Adelaide while the Grand Prix is on :D

Eat Cake!!

Take a walk down Acland Street in St Kilda. (Quite close to the GP)
there are more "Top Class" cake shops than you can poke a fish at!
some friends and I once tried to eat a cake from each one... Didn't even get close

The restaurants and coffee shops are brilliant as well.

Whilst it is awfully fun to sledge other states, I was under the impression that Faye was genuinely interested in what there is to do here. So I shall refrain from clogging her thread with completely OT posts, lest she not bother to keep checking it and miss out on something especially cool.
No doubt, she will visit your state too at some point, so please don't be jealous.
