The US is set up very differently when it comes to this stuff. We ship everything long distances to/from large factories. There is no local factory, and the large ones, if you live close enough, has security measures that prevent you from making barter transactions.

I'll keep looking though. I may get lucky.

However most of the pelletised plastics have recycle codes and densities. So say polypropelene had a weight just under water it should float (had a few beers so this is imho). Find your plastic and go to a local plastic extruding plant and offer them a carton of beer for a big bag of beads (or however you do this in the US).

Badflash

Checked ebay USA link http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trksid ... Categories see the rock tumbling or doll stuffing ones :)
BTW if you are going to use them for a bio might pay to roll them round in a cement mixer with a bit of sand and water for about five minutes, give them a good surface.

Thanks, but that would cost more for an unknown product. $100 for a 55# bags is not all that expensive from aquaticeco.com

Roughing the surface isn't needed if you have a little time, and I'm using this for particulate, not bio-filtration.
