PETA is people for the ethical treatment of animals. Have put forward a proposal to change the name of fish to sea kittens. Their rationale being who could possibly put a hook into a kittens mouth. They have close to 3000 signatures on their petition. Go here http://www.peta.org/sea_kittens/index.asp. I notice that you can buy promotional material on their site. They would be better off disuading people from feeding fish to their cats. That would be a step to saving millions of fish from becoming by_catch.

I reckon I might ask them to start a campaign to protect the soil bunny rabbits... the vegetables that are soooo sensilessly slaughtered every night to feed useless human beings...

Some nights their screams are so loud that they drown out the sound of the fridge that keeps my tofu cold....

... exposed to the harsh elements of nature, seared by acid rains, drenched in pesticides.... ripped from the collective hive just as they achieve maturity.... their life bood cruely squashed from their frames... stuffed into containers, filled with preservatives.... packaged in glitzy wrappings with fancy names...

I love a good red to wash down my tofu burger....

OH... yes.... "save the sea kittens".... hic... :drunken:

PETA's aim is to stop fish from being treated cruely. I am interested in the conservation of at danger level fish species like the patagonian tooth fish and the southern bluefin. In some ways our goals are similar but i dont agree with their methodology.
