I use hoop iron under each barrel, about 1/4 way from each end, up to the height of the support frame, which leaves the barrels supported up to 150m from the cut edge.

I needed to do this as the barrel was not bulging outwards, but squeezing inwards, without support underneath, and I dropped 3 of 4 1/2barrels of hydrotron on my first fill with water, when the barrels squeezed between the pipe rails. :oops:
