As my larger project got held up decided to do a really small system.
Had to be movable (on castors), able to be dismantled to component parts no screws etc (for transport) and reused/recycled components (pump and hydroton possibly excepted).
Main construction work finished, plumbing and wiring to go. Cost so far $21. Pics below.

Is that why the wine rack on the top shelf is empty. I think it is a good idea, by the way. You can combine the 3 most popular pastime in Australia (Gardening and Fishing) Aquaponics and drinking. Clever idea!~

Wasn't going to post till it was finished but had it to bits today, to do stuff, so got pics :)
Hope I get them in the right order, even after C1's assistance. :)

Stuff it will have to do in multiple posts

File comment: Found a small cannister filter, english plug had to rewire. Checked this morning, will do head. Made bottom support still got to attach and do strap. Lucky really design flaw, no holes in base in case of water spillage.

Have all the bits now and testing for lower leaks, not in movable base.
Managed 100% reused/recycled. Media is 1/3rd soft drink caps, gutter guard seperator then crushed (well hammer and peened) rumbled brick.
System is hybrid media/nft continuous flow. Water from ft to spreader in pots through media and down the sides of upside down pots then 4mil flow on bottom of trough to 1" drain to ft.
Good passive areation in ft.

OK

Finished.
Design flaws and stuff ups.
(1)Forgot to leave holes in bottom (where FT is) in case of spillage.(Now water resistant)
(2)Didn't bother to use the stud finder when drilling holes (crossed nailed in parts)
(3)Polishing galv with cutting compound was a pig, would have been better painted flat white.
(4)Adding an extra set of castors in the middle was a bit of a challenge esp since the originals wern't set right.
(5) Pump is a little too small for what I wanted
(6)Needs 2 fluro's not 1, and when testing fluro's, and they don't work' check you put a starter in and ground the capacitor before fiddling with the plug.
(7) garden lights are not nifty they are cheap and nasty and hard to fit
Last pics.

I'd imagine I'm not going to get a reply to this, but how did this setup go? I'm building something slightly bigger, definatley more expensive unfortunatley but definatley very similar to what you have.
