Look the same as the worms I get out of the floating 'raft' in my septic tank.

I know there to be two different kinds: the normal earthworms that live in the soil and those that live in manure

maybe the second kind can also live in water?

I read somewhere tiger worms have a defence mechanism when stressed they leak a liquid strong enough to deter fish, they went to use it for insect repellent.

I'm planning on using my red worms (Lumbricus Rubellus) as my main fish food once I'm up and running in AP. (not 100% I have reds as its very hard to tell composting worms apart)

best bet is to get earthworms from your garden by using some wet old carpet.

Yet to test out worms in FT, but I've read they can survive as long as the DO is high enough.

Your talking about compost worms? ( maybe I read wrong, prolly meant can survive in water for short periods of time) Thats a shame but like rupe said I guess you can have them in the GB

what OBO is saying, is that worms in a fish tank usually end up being fish food

Earthworms are commonly used as bait, and fish love them, because they are commonly naturally found in the rivers and dams where the fish live.

I remember when I found the concept of worms in water so difficult, I mean after a big rain, you see them dead in puddles and all, however, the logic above drove the idea home for me.
They, like fish I am told, require oxygenated water in order to survive (something shallow puddles do not have)

Yeah shallow gutters and gullies of water.. open to the air.... don't hold much oxygen.... especially when heat gets to them ....
