As we live close, and recently in another thread it has been noted that there are some few of us in the North, perhaps we could set up a Northern Melbourne Barter thread. Here we can list what we currently have growing, and trade between ourselves?

In vic a primesafe licence is needed to sell fish
a aqua licence to grow fish for sale (barter is sale)
my mum used to sell egss to all the neighbours this stuff goes on everywhere
but dont advertise it

Well that Sux aquam... I feared such laws existed...
I wonder if we could get together a group, to form a 'consortium' or some such, which could apply for a licence, and then we could all sell independently, and more so, between ourselves...

First you find the law, identify the objects and intents, then you find the loophole.

Aw come on C1, got to be religious as well. Lots of good tax breaks, rate exemptions etc.
Working out the Major and minor deities would be a hoot (Peeponica), and the ceremonies for cooking the food (on a blessed barbie with the essential essences (herbs))

This year mum decided no pressies for the adults...
rather put what ever you would have spent on each other
in a pool and buy heaps of food...
IGA gave $ for $ in value (this included a 50% discount on all goods)
and the manager added half the value of the spend out of his own pocket
the half was taken to the chemist (who had 2 shops) and the story was told...
of IGA, so the pharmacist added by discount and gave near all his specials
and some really good stuff...
Carloads of stuff was then delivered to Fr Brian,
this was divided up to 15 families of 4.

Our contribution was $1250... the total value of the goods given was several times this.
