One dead silver perch and a sudden stopping of my frustrating pH swing

Im not sure which one is more confusing - same amount of sun today as always so the algae would have been pumping out as much oxygen as always and changing the pH , and all the other fish are swimming around happily 8 hours later with no more deaths ....

Is it possible that that one fish was causing my pH swing and he just couldnt be bothered any more ?!

Nope... just one of those things... fish die...

If you'd left the fish in there to decompose... it might have marginally increased your ammonia...

More than likely.. it would have increased your mortalities... from disease...

The usual polo shirts, jackets ...and a 165 watt solar panel! Well actually I ordered it for myself but the kids don't have jobs so I guess it counts. Got it on Ebay for $99. Its got a busted glass so I have to support the back and plexi the front but beats the heck out of the reg. $700 retail.
