Ok getting organized...hospital tank set up with the near dead fish hanging onto life support...

They have this circle sort of thing happening on their skins...30 lt water to 2.5 kg's of salt so far for them...

I have a formulin additive and a fungus additive and I don't know which one I could or should use in the hospital tank

Death count upto 132....

I new it was I good idea to over order...but I didn't think the mortality rate would be this high....

So any and all suggestions would be muchly appreciated

I posted it in a PM to Jessy... but for the benefit of others...

Both the products pictured above show treatments for tropical fish... both contain Malachite Green ... a banned substance, that should never be used for fish which will be used for human consumption...

It is a known carcinogen... and banned worldwide....

For my 50km trip with the catfish they only put 25 in each bag. And that was with pumping oxygen into the water when we sealed the bags.

at 1 .30am in the morning my calculation was way out, there where 8 bags....400 fish so average says 50 fish a bag..........in 5 lts of water......then the hatchery manager says he goes by grams of fish weight per 5 lts of water otherwise O2 is compremised

Look at the end of the day.....IMO, if the fish are graded correctly, and sizing taken into factor with the ammonia output for there duration of the trip taken into account, this shouldn't happen......but hey...who am i to argue with a hatchery manager :blackeye:

All is cruising along , apart from the arrival of the deceased..

parameters are oo Ammonia, oo nitrite, and a low pH 7 or less, 5 ppm nitrate

A heap of feed on the bottom for them to chose from instead of each other

Can't wait for them to want to start feeding.....so they are being starved for the next two days......hope that works out OK, and they don't eat each other

Glad they're alright Jessy.... basic rule is that you don't feed fish for at least a day after transport...

They're usually too stressed to eat anyway... hence the feed laying around the bottom...

Glad you're not going to feed them for a "couple" of days...

with the feed laying around and 200 (?) fish.... measure your ammonia again daily for the next couple of days....
