Welcome Trixie!

I can imagine it all in my head - it looks great!

If you're on Windows I'm sure someone will help. On the Mac use iPhoto and export at a smaller res.

Hi there.

Are you windows XP? If so you can easily (and for free) download an image resizer tool it is a windows power tool or power toy or something like that. Once the image re-sizer is installed, you simply right click on the image you wish to re-size and go to re-size choose the appropriate size from the box that opens up. It will save your image separately as the new size with (medium) after it if that is the size you choose. Then when you upload, choose the medium picture.
Hopefully some one else here can share a link to the image re-sizer tool so you can download it.

You can use paintbrush for this as well but it is not nearly so quick and simple. I would have to refresh my memory to give instructions on that.

Welcome Trixie!
To resize pictures easily, Microsoft actually have a decent utility! Yeah I know, wonders never cease!
anyhow you can get it here: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/Downloads/powertoys/Xppowertoys.mspx
Most of us use this. If you select 'small' for 640x480 screen they will upload fine. There's also a custom option for when you want to resize a pic to use as your profile image or avatar.
Hope that helps
PS Dave's good at imagining and designing, but piccies help me heaps, so I'll be waiting and watching :-)
