It's unlikely to hurt on on a single pass, but as AP is cyclic, and fish are more susceptible to the higher concentration than we are to the low single pass concentration.

take it one step further: don't use 50 mm pipes, use at least 90 mm, even better square 100 mm drains
drill big holes in the top of them for better aeration and you can use them as NFT gutters to grow plants in (that's how I do it)
or use gutters (but then you will have more algae buildup)

larger pipes/gutters also need less supports


if it does leak, just smear some (food grade) silicone (or other) grease on the joints before assembling. Very efficient.


pipes under pressure should be left out
they always bring unnecessary energy waste
they need more valves, so are more expensive
gravity is our friend
it acts as a free pump
