Sunray pool salt (seasalt) .... Bunnings has a 25kg bag for $5.92 at the moment...

3ppt is fine for most veges Bill ... strawberries struggle with anything above that...

Just leave it in there... the concentration will drop over time with water top ups anyway..

I'm off to 'B' tonight to grab one of those bags, I think it's a great idea.

3kg/1000L = 3ppt pr parts per thousand right... so in 6kl I need 18kgs of salt...

Hey, where does one get a refractometer or whatever they're called to measure salt concentration?
I'd be very interested to know when my salt is low, and how quickly it's dropping.

Side topic: There are plants that put nitrogen back into the soil, like Clover and others.
There are plants that put all sorts of stuff into the soil, and plants that take all that stuff out...

Is there a plant anybody know of that can put salt back into the soil?
That'd be kinda sweet... or salty as may be the case.

Salt bush takes it from the soil. If you wanted to remineralize your soil just use your FT water. They are putting sea salt into dirt gardens now in small amounts to add trace's that have been lost to the sea over the years.

I was thinking of getting one of those cafeteria coffee/sugar/chocolate dispensers...then filling it with salt, and other goodies the system needs so I can just drop a shot in at a time :-)
but then I thought that might be crazy.

lol... of course milne, I was planning on upsizing it appropriately from 1 teaspoon dispensed to something more like a bucket ;-)
Fish on caffeine... hhmmm interesting idea duff.
Some ppl were trialling putting fish in clean salted water to purge them, others were adding spices to see how they effected the taste.
I wonder now about coffee flavoured fish...

How did that flavoured purging go? does anybody know? I forget who was doing it, perhaps TwinTragics...
