Hi Stu,

In another thread you mentioned your power backup for the farm system. Could you give details?

Stu

Another one. We are on the second run from this basil. After the first harvest we chopped them back. They have grown bushier this time, but 2 goes will have to do as the root masses are starting to block the channels

we are going to see how they go transplanted into the growbeds once this harvest happens. Lettuces are about a 4 week cycle and basil about the same depending a lot on the strength of the seedlings. ie a weak seedling takes twice as long to adapt to it's new growing situation and thrive.

yep.

noticable difference in growth where the water starts to get a bit deep too, they don't like that one bit.

The second harvest yielded nearly three times as much basil as the first, leaving the plants at about 6 inches high, 2.75 kilo's was harvested. Only 1 KG the first harvest.

See pic. That's a lot of basil . We made pesto to take to a party last weekend and we received many good compliments. If we had time and resources to do a market stall, I reckon it would sell really well. The lady who buys this off us goes to market with it made into pesto. She wants us to sell her 10kg's a week
