Algae bloom is normal! dont treat the tank for it!.
It will get to as stage where you recon you can walk on it, then it will clear almost overnight!

Get some of your pellets and crush them between a couple of spoons to see if the little ones will take them.

just thought to add that I have had some success using mosquito lava to raise fish fry, tiny perch and trout, you can feed the lava at different sizes.
raise them in lots of small buckets and use them up before the mature.

Another good fish food is white worms, I have cultured these out of worm castings, just put the castings in ice-cream containers and feed small amounts of bread.

The littlens seem to be happy sucking on the algae on the side of the tank. A few have been down the overflow pipe and now reside in the sump, but seem happy enough. I'd say i have lost about 30-40, but the rest look OK.

I have been feeding a few of the 1-2mm floating pellets. i dont see them eating them, but when i turn my back they disapear.

I dont think im going to try any fancy home made/grown foods. I live a busy life so the little guys are going to have to learn to cope with what they get.

I'm looking forward to seeing the growth over the next few weeks. I'll post an update when there is something to report.

Tez
