Can't help too much, I have a pot of Taro sitting in my AP pond and it grows fine. Nothing too technical about it.

it doesn't like salt in the system

So therfore it is unsuitable for long term AP use - because at some stage you will need to add salt.

If grown in a pot in the tank or sump - can always remove if salting. How many PPT whacked it around J?

the first time I had to add salt it was prolly 5ppt? that was in August

Why is that?

Cos salt is a cheap panacea for fish... and fish get sick...

I thought a taro was a sweet potato... I know nothing of this elephant ear stuff.

And even with your excellently understocked large system - you still had to add salt. Everyone will have to at some stage.

Maybe not this year, maybe not next year - but when your tree is at 4m high, something will go wrong, and you'll have to salt = dead tree.

I am not going to be growing anything else in my systems now that is affected adversely by low levels of salt.

Not afaik frank, strawberries, taro, what else?
