My cousin has made these, reckons oranges are a better ammo as they fit snugger into the chamber creating more backpressure. Reckons he can fire an orange 400 metres

Don't get me started.... Back in the day (Highschool) I made a pneumatic sniper rifle with a 1" the 3/4" and then a 1/2" barrel. Breach loading and very quiet, fired everything from paintballs to ice. At 120 psi I could shoot wax through 16mm MDF....... does anyody else hear those sirens... ??

They make a great bait launcher for rock fishing

Put a long trace on the line and feed sinker down barrel and insert in to orange, fish dangling out the top. Mate standing next to you holding fishing rod.

Works well, but makes alot of noise, that may attrack SWAT team!

yes, played with one when i was younger and there fore more likely to be let off with a warning.

Lemons worked better, but spuds were cool if you shot them through wire mesh fences...............french fries. We tried everything from wet toilet paper to small stuffed toys.

As an adult i learned that by the letter of the law they are considered a fire arm as they use an expanding gas to propel a projectile.

Possesion of an unregistered fire arm, not having fire arm licence, discharging a fire arm in a residential area are all likely charges........... :( I wish i was young again..............or that we didn't have ridiculous laws........i can get into all sorts of trouble for owning a spud gun or playing paint ball in victoria, turst me i cheked it out, but the'll happily let me apply for a calss B fire arm licence to legally play paintball and as a bonus i can now own a shot gun??? work it out

I get the evil looks from the people at the local Mitre10 even today. They knew what I was building. I went in there the other day to get some PVC for my setup and basically asked me if I was building a spud gun... When I build my big one I went to hardware stores all around Perth getting a bit here and bit there. I look back at what I thought was harmless fun and think... I did some really stupid thing back then.

True...........i have no idea wheresome of those lemons landed.............but we tried to keep it strictly to the valley with no houses.

Oh yes, a tip if you want to shoot blanks. the flame looks cool, and eventually you'll it to make a loud noise too. This is what i thought.........lol

I asked my mate for some masking tape to mask off the outlet when shooting "blanks".........i'm sure the masking tape would have worked.......but i was too young to understand the strength of DUCT TAPE, which is all he had.

Ready? Prime. screw lid in. fire. Bang..........destroyed combustion chamber, one very swollen and slightly burnt hand, and wait for it...........a perfectly intact barrel sill perfectly capped with duct tape.

Silly boys. lucy is wasn't me with the swollen hand........thats the benifit of having friends that will do it for ya. LOL

ah, but CG these guys would much rather eat a mango than waste it by shooting it at someone

Other fruits of use for annoying/injuring/damaging/messing-with siblings include birds'eye chillies, lychees, guavas
