Been having some bad luck here, 17 barra dead, and possibly more to die. The kids in the neighbourhood thought it would be fun to try and spear the fish with an aluminium stake. Catfish have slash marks down there sides and some barra dead  hopefully the rest will be OK

when you restock, get the kids to buy/catch/name their own fish, and tell em they can have them when they are harvested.
Then they get mixed with all the others and they won't know which one not to spear...

Thanks steem, but no, this won't be happening.....bad bad idea. The little delinquents not only just think they are above the law, but they are above the law and know it..... :director: :violent1:

I Bactonex 'd the tank and they are all eating once again...probably against the rules for fish ment for human consumption, but it works and kickly, stops infections spreading,....and since I am the only one ment to be eating them, no harm really done :dontknow:

no salt Duff, just bactonex, risky , maybe.......but works a lot faster than salt, and it works

Since it is BYAP, and not a commericial venture............fish have anouther 4 or 5 months to re - regulate themselves

Tis horrible stuff though Jessy.... salting would probably have done the job as a preventative measure....

Formalin is another option, and a prescribed treatment for aquaculture...

Fair enough Jessy... was forgetting that they were physically injured.... in which case oxy-tetracycline was another alternative... but has to be vet administered....
