As McPhro wisely pointed out, there would be water left in the bottom of the GrowBed.

To get around this, You could try drilling the lower hole through almost at the base of the fitting,
(a couple of millimetres above the growbed floor) instead of going through the standpipe tube.

This would give a much lower drain level

If you read all the thread you will see thats what i have done

Just to clarify my confusion. In the "action" shots you have the standpipe in the corner of the growbed... have you mounted the drain tap their as well?

That is what is confusing me I believe.

I was wondering about decoling the overflow and the drain. Wuld a drain with a ball valve adjusted to be slow and a simple overflow protection setup with holes on the side of the GB produce the same result? Isthere a risk that the 6mm hole plugs?
