Todays pix, compare with a week ago. Just look at that Silver beet and the large tomato that I have made a crude frame for support.
I am now having trouble keeping wife out of the grow bed, wanted a lettuce today, told her to wait until after the pix are taken.

I am very very impressed with that growth. Would you consider that location of yours full light or part shade as I am having problems with my spinach wilting. They are in full sun for most of the morning and I think this might be the problem.

Monya, I have no idea what the levels of anything are, I dont test for any of those things.
I reckon if the plants and fish are looking good then all must be well.
I am really trying to keep it as simple as possible.
and , "when in doubt, change the water out"

My water is too brown to take pix of the fish. I really want to get something else other than those native pellets to feed my fish, if I over feed a bit the water goes really brown. I have had the fish on lettuce and bok choi for the last 3 days in an attempt to clear the water a bit, and it is clearing slowly

I just have to get a worm farm and duckweed growing. It is the next step.......

Well it is one of the next steps.

Last Friday I ordered 250 Murray Cod which will be delivered in 6 weeks, anyone in Brissie want to share some ? I really only want about 50. They are going to cost about 1.70 each inc delivery. I won't know exactly until I get the invoice.
So I will have Murray Cod on the BBQ in about a years time..........eat your hearts out !!!!!

So, if nobody wants to share, then I will just have to have more BBQ,s.... I guess....aahhhhh.... It is going to be tough, but somebody has to do it.....

Muzza

Murray, I was just interested in the nitrate levels, to do a bit of a "so to get plant growth like that you need approx x levels of nitrates......" Just curious. Keep up the good work.

Could the brown water be fines from the gravel. My gravel even after being "thoroughly" washed has made the poly tank I'm cycling my beds from go murky as.

Hi Monya, could be a bit of the gravel fines, but it is mostly the native pellets, I got a new lot which are bigger, I got them at the local Aquarium shop so must be a different manufacturer or batch or something, don't know, but they sure make the water dirty.
The water is clearing up nicely at the moment, just gave them some more chopped lettuce anf a half dozen garden worms......see how it goes.
