Putting up my wind geni it has a rectifier reerts the 3 phase regulator that converts 3 phase AC to 24v DC Reg has a dump load output that is a plug with 3 wires hanging out the back any ideas about a cheap way to hho this up so to use this load? How do i wire it?

"any ideas about a cheap way to hho this up so to use this load? How do i wire it?"
Umm, you mean what kind of dummy (dump) load should you connect?
Basically it would have to be able to dissipate the maximum output of the generator.
Given that it is a load to dissipate MAXIMUM output at times, then the output/phase might vary at high output (depending on wiring geometry), so I wouldn't try to derive an earth for a star 3-phase load, the earth might float a bit further than you'd like - stick with delta. Others may point out that a star config would have higher resistances and thus be easier to get higher wattage components.
Can you post more detail on the generator output?

Geni is 500w so i expect peaks higher than that. I dont really want to spend big bucks on load dump resistance as i can buy Aussie reg for $350 that has dump system in built.

Interesting, can you get replacement parts for the $350 regulator, i.e. just the dummy load?
Otherwise have a surf around rs-components or similar for 50 or 100W resistors, and bolt them to a steel frame or similar for a heatsink.
When I say delta wiring, I'm assuming that the 3 wires are each of the phases from the gen., thus a resistance between wire A&B, B&C, C&A.

Preheat the water feeding your hot hater tank by using the water heater elements as a load. If it gets too hot, dump the extra water via the toilet tank feed. Kind of a facial for your butt....

I assume that the dummy load is 24 volts DC. After all it is your battery being charged that determines time to dump incoming power. That will mean a 24 volt DC heater element as dummy load. Remember if dummy load is going to standard hot water tank with 24 v. element to not use themo cut off switch. Also should pipe in tempering valve to avoid scalding and pipe High temp high press valve to waste because it will be opening.

Good Advice once again. I was assuming the dummy load will be needed only as an exception not as a normal run condition. I could have answered better...

Dump is 240 ac purchased a 4 bar heater from the op shop $8 got an elect techi father inlaw to have a look reckons 2 of the wires are powers and one is a common heater has high and low so going to wire two bars to one and second 2 bars to other power common goes to both sides. :?:

So the generator must be single phase then? The extra water heater as a dummy load will work best if the generator is near the house and easy to pipe in. That way you get use of the extra energy by preheating the cold water inlet to the regular water heater. Otherwise you are dumping off the energy to heat air.
