Root veges and toms in the same bed? Interesting. I would have thought teh root veges needed far less water... or rot... ?

Sweet potato experiment to grow cuttings

Hmmmmmm!!!!!

a) root growth was fantastic
b) several cuttings removed from tuber and planted in dirt
c) Les came 2nd to a rat :upset:
d) noticed more buds coming out so have replanted it and "dug in" the cage for better protection

The idea of using AP water for getting cuttings works very well - a lot of root growth shows the tuber thrives...will try the next cutting in a GB to see how it goes but sweet potato vines have a reputation for going berserk in dirt so may end up with a jungle

A Cat? Or a nasty dog. A greyhound should do... probably wouldn't bother with mice, but anything ratsized and bigger is lunch to a greyhound. Our little cat wont let ANYTHING inside the house. Moths, crickets, cockroaches, flies, bullants (small black ans she leaves along :-( ) etc all get belted, then eaten...

A fun time was had with a large storm causing much damage in the area - here are some pics

High tide mark (150mm+) – the water was running passed the house and garage at this height...and then washed straight into the GH at this height...the back yard was a sheet of water for over 30 minutes as the storm continued.
When the storm abated, we went racing down the back to collect our thongs and other footwear that got washed away :D
