Kirks been fishing! yay! You should send that photo to the newspaper and tell them where you caught it. Well done to you (and to Jana for the photography, am I right.) Did you have red or white wine with that?
I guess there is a few people with trout on their menu at this time. Better get in before its too late as the temps are rising fast.

White wine with fish of course. Jana is always the photographer cause she is so good at it and i cant work her camera

I think i may struggle with getting my water temp up as the tanks are buried and insulated

I am going to try some silver perch as well as the black bream i have just bought. I will try to hold two trout over the summer to see how long they last so i know for next year. I suppose i should measure and record my water temps but atm i just use my finger and the swim index. " would i swim in it comfortably"
so far its a solid NO

What are you putting in to replace trout?

Now that is a question that remains un answered...
It depends on the building program we have here.
I would like to do trout year round and think it is achievable !
Though I am looking to increase the water body by 100kl
and lots will be indoors or underground

Weight, mmm no!
But a small community in the planning,
so food safety and security are the goals.

Love how nice the system looks! The sink was a great idea too. You have inspired me to make part two of my system can look a little nicer.

+1 for the urinal :P

I picked up my 50 silver perch from Boris01 today, and added them to the tank. I put the trout in with the large black bream as they are similar size so probably :? wont fight

the small black bream are in their own tank and seem happy there

HSM

i harvested six trout yesterday afternoon, in the process i stirred the water up a fair bit, and caught more than i needed so put some back. I dod man handle them a little bit compared to fishing i did not think it was excessive

This morning i had two dead trout and a dead bream all in the same tank and one dead trout in the sump( they can get into the sump if they try hard.

The pump appeared to be running fine and the gravel was wet

WTF???

did the netting stress them out? does stress cause death ot did they stress and breathe too hard and run out of O2

:blackeye:
