I can't see why they would take the warning label off toothpaste as it would help guard against potential lawsuits. You guys must not have enough crooked lawyers... Maybe we can send you some of ours!!! Well I won't photograph the box but I can type the warning ver batum: "Warnings Keep out of reach of children under 6 years of age. If more than used for brushing is accidentally swallowed, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center right away. Drug facts Active ingredient Sodium flouride (0.24%)."
Back in the 70's flouride was the craze. It was in bottled water and being added to city drinking water supplies. In the 80's it was dropped in the bottled water in our area and later phased out in the city water supply. I also know that the amount of flouride put in tooth paste to be sold overseas has much more flouride in it, Several times the amount that can be legally sold in the us. Some of this which was destined to be sold in other nations was rerouted back in the US and ended up in Discount and Dollar stores and was suspect in poisoning children. I remember a nighttime documentary show on the subject just don't remember all the details.

I got both an older and younger brother. When we were young we moved from Sydney to the bush and I was the only one that didn't get to drink water with fluoride at a young age. Both my brothers have bad teeth and I had my first filling at age 33 and it was in a wisdom tooth that was half covered. And I'm a morning brusher most of the time not a night brusher. Affects the taste of the beer.

I think they put it in the water more for it ability to subdue the population. And I'm sure I've seen it on the side of a bag of Rat Sac.

I am of the understanding 'they' put it in the water because it is too toxic to dispose of without dillution  a byproduct of aluminium thanks alcoa etc.
To add to other comments:
Both daughters have decay free teeth, having lived without flouride all their lives...<17 & <21.
...anyone know how hard it is to get your kids to brush their teeth??

I had fluoride tablets for a while as a child, until my older brother started getting the white spots on his teeth. I have no fillings, other than a root canal in a front tooth due to breaking the tooth off in an accident.

It is good to hear about kids that have had no fluoride, yet have good teeth. Can't help but realise it has more to do with the attention parents place on brushing and the shit that goes into kids mouths. As a child we never had softdrink and only ate home made biscuits and stuff.

C1 - I'll check that link out at home, I've not been able to get it to download properly from work.

BR, warnings were taken off because any half wit would make a connection ;)

It may or may not surprise you that victoria has an act of parliament or a clause (thank jeff) that specifically removes common law rights in the event of a dosing problem.

BR, for the un-informed can you post a photo of one of your packets ?

want a guaranteed best seller? market a filter that removes fluoride............they're hard to come by.

Probalby just use the water from the rain tank for drinking. Preference would be from the one affixed to the shed (not yet installed), because it is likely to be better for potable purposes for a number of reasons:

- shed roof colourbond and therefore less crap comes off it than the tile roof of the house
- I am going to have the pipe from the shed roof to the tank travel through the air instead of doing the down up thing (eventhough tank will be about 8 metres from the shed - will need to prop the pipe up). This means that there is less chance of contamination from the pipework than the house roof one - which has about 40 metres of underground pipe befor travelling up and into the tank).

We will put a plastic filter on the tank and will probably just move the water to the house manually initially - placing it into some sort of big earthenware container with a tap or something, which will be located in the kitchen. Easier than plumbing it all - and afterall, its not like hundred of litres of water are drunk in a day.

Do you have a 'pig pit' just before the tank from the house?
Pig pit is a pit with a tee with a screw cap that can be remove to release
stagnant water in the line 8)
