Hi all,
My hubby and me have just bought our first house and are planning on setting up an aquaponic system, I have read Joel's book, watched the DVD and we are starting to plan what we want. I have heaps of questions that I hope someone will be able to answer (some of them probably pretty silly and have been answered somewhere already).

Hello and welcome!!!!!!! I expect you are already ahead of the game for the reading and watching you have already done. Get the download of the BYAP magazine first issue, it has some useful info in it too. A little reading through the top section of the forum (basic info, useful info, FAQ etc) and you may save yourself asking a few of those questions and probably get ideas for a ton more questions in the process.

People here are generally very happy to answer question an direct you to answers. Some questions will prompt a barrage of questions back at you though, those ones usually involve fish dieing while initially trying to cycle a system up. Make sure you have a test kit (pH, Ammonia, Nitrite and Nitrate) and an understanding of the nitrogen cycle as it pertains to cycling a system and you will probably avoid that situation all together.

Welcome again and we look forward to your pending AP addition...I mean your system thread with pictures in Member Systems. You don't need a system to start a system thread, you can use the thread to get help designing your system or systems and working out the particular challenges of your situation, space and location.

And most people will help you find a link to a discussion if google isn't up to date
