The Barra are behaving in a way I didnt expect them too, I thought they would be all flighty and active... could be adjusting to tank conditions maybe :dontknow: . A few that escaped into the big wide world of the tank are so small compared to the other fish... and the ones in the holding basket, look like they are resting on the mesh, or as you and I would sway on a hammock... the jacks are curious, but that is their nature, and the grunters are savages ... the few that are with the rest of the fish are resting on rocks i have on the bottom in the corner.. or venturing out too see the others , and scooting back.

Early days here , wonder if I should move them to the sump tank and they can grow bigger with the guppies, they are about the same size  and I might have a more successful grow out ??? especially if I dont unplug the sump pump

Thinking that too. might help them out. They dont look to have too much hope in the main tank right now, might do the big change over soon...

You can see they're still stressed by the white "stress" line along there backs Jessy...

Let them settle.... just keep up the oxygenation... and I'd keep the flow rate up as well...

If you're on a timer... switch to continual running...

+1

Putting them in with the other fish would be bad as well - you would most likely get dead barra from trying to eat the other fish.

Its good that they are still alive :)

The fish when I left this morning looked only just still alive. I caught the 4 escapee's and put them into the sump with the guppies. Wasn't hard, poor things aren't them Barrumundi selves. Too scared to go home and see the hopelessness of the situation. need to do a print off photo, and have a head count , too see if i lost any to the mongral river fish. They get well fed, over fed, but hey can't tell them that.

The fish are all alive and looking heaps better  . Water parameters are the same as usual, no difference what so ever

:D done a head count off this picture, got 114 in the pic' so to be kind, say anouther 50 out of view and a few in the tank, a few in the sump , only few dead on arrival. and they are starting to pick up aswell, looking more like them barra selves .

Moved 25 into the sump to snack on guppies, and left the rest in the main tank, see how it all goes, the mesh wont last long in the tank , its already stopping the water circulation, and crap build up in the next week will be huge..

now time for them to eat and get bigger, would love to see the Barra snack out on the Grunters

Those catfish won't rack of either. They have the rest of the tank to hang in, and this side the net is hanging on was always there unfavoured side before NOW ......... have to think about resetting the float switch in the sump tank, and I might move them there.

After all your troubles you don't want the barra to be part of the food chain...so move or eat the catfish

Thinking if I keep them all WELL fed on 'roo, it wont be a fatal situation....they were my original system survivers... the big guys and their younge mates....hard decision...my mate last night thinks in not to long the barra will be able to eat a few of them, so what to do????
