Did a 20% water change to bring the temp down ... to 26... and will a 33% water change in the morning... to bring the pH back....

At that pH (8.4) and the tank temps... there's no real room to move with ammonia...

Only 100 fingerlings in the 1500ltr tank... but some of them are about 75mm...

Noted that the son kept a respectable distance from you when taking the pics - suppose he had the front door open as his escape route as well while taking the shots :sign5:

 Both Faye....

Today was supposed to be milder than yesterday... but at 09:00 we were at 29.2 degrees....

Lost a total of four yabbies.... two were extremely soft and along with another had a loose carapace, which suggest they may have been in the process of moulting...

The other one ... the biggest one.... :x .... looks just fine... :?:

Rest seem OK.....phhhew...

And the fish.... they're doing just fine and seem to be enjoying their new surrounds.... :D

With the air temp at 29.2 at 09:00... and the day scheduled to peak around 35/36 degrees...

Figured I'd do a water change to bring the pH back... in case the little ones decided to get ammonia happy...

50% change... tank temp (28 initially), back to 24, pH about 7.8.. trace of ammonia.... around lunch time....

Tank temp back to 28 by 16:00.... air temp 36 degrees....

Too hot to plant out the hydro seedlings and kick the system into gear.... so...

Had a 2m stock feed trough (tote) lying around that I'd intended to incorporate into the mega system....

Thought I'd jerry it up for some filtration and aeration to the tank....

Took the other black pot trickle filter out... and tee'd to the trough...

As the pump kicks in from the solar array controller... it's like a timer based system... so straight standpipe drain...
