My partner and I succumbed to the pitch on Noni from one of our friends about three years ago. I had no trouble accepting what she said because in my mind, anything that tasted that bad had to be good for you.

Having said that, I acknowledge that my sense of taste wouldn't be a useful bench mark since I don't eat or drink anything that tastes sweet. Things that other people don't regard as sweet can be sickly to me.

I've got a similar problem GD, except on a lesser scale. My gf loves sugar and chocolate and all manor of things sweet and I can only eat a very small amount before I feel sick.
On that very and with this topic, has anyone considered trying to grow Theobroma cacao (the plant used to make cacao or coco then later in the process chocolate). I've heard that it can be used to make a slightly bitter coco drink that is really good for your heart.

Cheers,

Duncan.

Now, that, I would be interested in. I'm not really a big fan of chocolate or caffeine, but actually growing coffee & cacao plants.. that'd be fantastic! :D

AA:, got the package a week ago, still haven't opened it  but i trust its all there :)

GD: You mentioned taste......... What a "slap in the face", huh? Couple of notes on the taste. You ain't tasted nothin until you've tried to 100% noni juice. Man, its the sort of stuff that repeats on you hours later. Tahitian noni juice has a milder taste due to it having been mixed with 5% grape fruit jucie and 5% blueberry juice. The mixture both makes the taste more palatable AND increses its anti-oxidant properties..........apparently a year was taken deciding on the blend.

Now, the following s just personal experience, but has been "proven" time and time again. In my opinion, its tastes worse the more you "need" it. When i first tried it, i was like "well its gotta be good if it tastes this bad" yet some people LIKE the taste.........it was about 12 months later after i started taking it regularly that i realised it didn't taste all that bad. I now actually enjoy the taste of it too!

All good stuff. If anyone is interested in the stuff, or learning more about it then ask here or PM me. I 100% love the stuff, but am not really the "thrust it in your face - U gotta try this" sort of person. I'd be happy to answer questions, provide info, and explain why in my opinion Tahitian Noni is the ONLY one to use if you were going to. (Probably starting off with the ridiculous amount of quality control from tree to bottle, that allows you to quote a number on the side of the bottle and be told which Island and which group of pickers the fruit that went into your bottle came from  and with one bottle being sold every 1.6 seconds thats pretty impressive. Also that EVERY batch is tested against strict standards including something like 40 odd contaminants. Oooop, raving now. :(

Steve

hey jtjf_1, Sorry I don't have a recipe I just saw it on Beyond Tomorrow. But a quick google search should reveal the process.

Steve, What's this noni juice for? Everyone's like it's the only one to take... to take for what? And how do I get hold of said juice?

Duncan, at the risk of sounding like the traditional snake oil saleman................almost everything. PM me you details and i'll send you some info if you like.

The said juice can be ordered from the companies website for retail, or from an independant distributor for any amount down to the wholesale price depending on how much they like you :)

Make no mistake it is not cheap, but having used it, found benifit and knowing the STRICT quality controls and the contribution to the people of tahiti they have made, i think $2 to $3 per day is worth it. Its a take away coffee per day. :)

On the whole noni thing. I have not got far into it yet. But as we have a few trees hanging around the orphanage and a few friends homes I will have to see what the fuss is about. Maybe it will Help the Fishies.
