Hello everyone, I am from McAllen, Texas and I'm looking to start my own AP system. Actually, I started building a system about a week or two ago, but have not had the time to finish. Will post pics asap.

I've been reading the forums for a while and I thought it was time to show my face :) here it is.

Well, I am looking forward to completing my system and see how it all goes. (I am sure I'll be asking a lot of questions, so bare with me)

BTW My name is Marcos.

Run out of yard and start in the house? On the roof? Add vertical towers, :)
Welcome and there is no cure.

Thanks guys, I'll see if I can post some pics as soon as I leave from work. my system will be about 1000 liters fish pond (hole in the ground with pond liner) and for growing medium, I will have 4-rows of 4" pcv pipe filled with gravel and hope to grow some lettuce & strawberries.

Beware that 4" pipe will become blocked with roots etc over time - dont even think about planting larger things like tomatos. Lettuce and suchlike are fine.

I plan on using growing beds for the future. I have already seen pics of lettuce root and it is a concern, but for the moment I want to start with what I already have. Any advice as far as pumps? flow? cost?

Thanks

I am trying to figure out how to post pics.

This is what I have so far. I only have 6 feet of working space here, but if everything goes well I have more room to grow. (actually, this is my parent's home, I own a small backyard and I'm affraid of vandalism, but I have convinced my dad and he is very excited!!!)

For 1000 litres use a small cheapy ebay 2000 - 3000lph pump. They are noisy, wastefull on power, but cheap, and reliable enough for a small system.

Hi Mark,

You may want to get in touch with King Eric the 14th, what you have there is very similar to what he has already done. This is his system: viewtopic.php?t=477

Himzo.
