The reason I ask is that when I pulled the passion fruit vine out of my one bath tub GB it had taken over the entire bath tub  Even umbrella trees (which grow like weeds here) and palms were stunted in their growth while sharing a GB with the passion fruit vine. It handled continuous flow for over a year as long as the water drained away easily. It did pay its keep in that it readily produced passion fruits after just over a year... It had around 40 on it when I pulled it out to turn the bath tub into a redclaw concentration tank

Thanks for the heads-up Dave! will have a think about what i can do to combat this problem..............LOL might just plant the rest of the bed with an equally invasive plant like tomato and let them do battle! I dont think that any division or partition i place in the bed to contain the roots will be effective...........roots are so resourceful ;)

MY luck:

I've had two nice sized passion fruit vines stashed inside waiting to have my new beds done do i could plant them out. They will form a canopy over the fishtank.

So planted them out three days ago i think. The last two night have been the coldest of winter i think, around 1.8C with quite bad frost..............the younger shoots and leaves did NOT like the frost :(

Thank goodness i left the tamarillo tree in the laundry to harden it up and not outside.......they definatly don't like frost when young.

Complete system pics soon, wouldn't want to disrespect the BYAP name by posting a half done system ;)

Why nearley every body else does

The washing machine pump burnt out tonight while reets was doing last minute washing before she goes away for the weekend. Was ordered to go make it right, got a siphon going in the washing machine and then went to stank by the FT for some tranquility while it did its thing. Except there was no tranquility to be had

dog had pulled the sump pump plug out, sump full and water all over the ground, FT missing about 2KL, fish stressing.

now filling the sump from hose hoping the splashing around and pump back to the FT will help dissipate any chlorine, out of VitC atm.

Jobs for saturday:
1) remove extension lead from laudry to IP68 white bucket covering plugs and timers weighed down by piece of iron
2) wire and fix an outdoor GPO to the fence for AP power supply
3) cable tie FT float to pump discharge pipe to set a much higher cut out level
4) start on list that i already had for the weekend :(

realistically item 1) and 2) will be replaced by running a longer extension lead along the fence into the laundry window instead of down the steps

item 3) should be manageable ;)

I bet you wish you could go away for the weekend now Steve?
That reminds me, you haven't seen these and I guess you have the powers to remove them if you don't want them here.

Aah memories of holidays!
