Hi everyone,

making slow progress. Half the posts are in to support the roof of the hothouse/shade area.

Been checking out the prices of tanks and growbeds. Intresting that there is up to $300 diffrence on a 5000litre tank between local retailers.

Post some picts soon as the hothouse goes up.

God bless froggo.

Hi Gilly,

yeh I love the chooks. Eggs are good and they clean up all the bugs, grass, weeds and fallen fruit from around the fruit trees.

They are great little workers and save me heaps of time so I can spend more time and money on Ap.

I brought a 5000litre tank today at the B store, this is going to be my fish tank.

I'm thinking about using those recycle tubs as growbeds but still have to check out some more water troughs at another agri shop. The tubs may be cheaper but alot more fittings will be required.

The sump setup I may look at those green 500litre units at the B store. Still have not found out anything else about them not being suitable for drinking water which is marked on the ones I've seen?

God bless froggo.

most of the posts are in for the hothouse/shadehouse. The hole is half dug for the 5000litre fish tank and hope to have it in over weekend.

Not sure about the amount of growbeds and sump size yet. I would like to have several sumps to hold small fish before going into main tank,

God bless froggo

Hi Froggo,
That ground looks bloody hard.
Hire a small jackhammer it may help you live a little longer. When you have finished put some brickies sand in the bottom to protect the FT bottom.
Hope to see you soon.
Alex

Hi everyone,

thanks Alexmac will get some sand. It's slow work digging, the clay was not good, so I was forced to stop for the occasional refreshement.

I'm a real slow learner, should know by now after digging out the pond by hand a few years ago. Still haven't got over that,

God bless froggo.

Hi everyone,

a few update pictures. The fish tank[5000litre water tank] is in and the first of two 500litre sumps are now in ground.

Hi Outbackozzie,

the water tank has a date with the nine inch, angle grinder that is. I'm going to cut a bigger hole in the top so it will be easier to net the fishies. Well that's the plan anyway.

Hi scottt,

thanks, I'm sick of digging holes. I thought this aquaponics thing was a no dig solution. As you can prob see I've brought some of the 500litre green tubs to use as sumps.

Grow beds are next, got to get the system up and running as quick as I can to make the most of the nice spring weather.

God blesss froggo.
