i have no idea, but it shows the DIFFERENCE

50l/d (les) times by 6.28 = 314L/d pretty much jessy's

I stand by my cals :)

have i made up for the two weeks lost time? :)

Interesting Steve.... guess you'd have to be an evap air conditioning engineer to think about such things.....

Handy to know mate... didn't really grasp your initial figures... until you related them to Les's situation....

next project is to take a leaf out of Synaptoman' s book, and use a 30 cm in diameter pipe cut in half, braced, and fibreglassed out as a jig, and deck the rest of the front yard out in a simular system he has in South Africa. :bigsmurf: The ground has a natural gentle slope, for a NFT run down, a sump at the bottom, pumped back to the main tanks in the shed, a bio filter will be introduced.

Love the solid mass of plants Jessy!

What do you use to control bugs on the broccoli? Mine have lots of holes in them.

I haven't kept barra for many years, but at a fish farm I saw (20 years ago) the fingerlings (between 25mm and 75mm) were fed a burst of crumble every 2 or 3 minutes.

Oh Jessy, you got it bad! :) It's great to see such a productive crop and it looks like you will be able to feed all the locals soon. Have you generated much interest around the place with other people wanting to do the same or do they just think you're mad like the rest of us.

HI Faye, there is interest from the aboriginal communities and a heap of cash ready for something like this from royalties and mining companies, but its a catch 22. They have to be interested in running their system in the end. Take the initiative. Quite often up here , if one person has the drive, projects go really well, but if that person leaves, no body takes up the slack and a really well run business falls into a flop, like the native tree program that was here, supplying mining companies with natives for restoration of land after mining has finished in that area.

I am just doing my thing, its a novelty with the kids but they are on strick instructions to bring a parent with them, so they all get the jist of it, and its a saftey issue aswell.

Once the barra get here, then things will get interesting, and interest will grow like wild fire. I have good relations with the people from the land here, and they know my true intentions. I have been asked to speak with Chevron at meetings, but it goes back to who will run the systems after they are set up.

My system is only 4 months old, so the seed of the idea is still fresh, and will grow :flower:

That looks wonderful Jess, it has really taken off - just steer clear of all those southern internet sites

Jess,
It is interesting you say that. I am taking a course this week that speaks to that concept of helping communities evaluate their own problems and come up with their own solutions including how to maintain the project for the long haul. www.lifewind.org

It's all about building the capacity of the members of a community to help themselves without creating dependencies...
