Any chance of a picture. I keep imagining something different when I hear wet back.

Yeah, I thought a 'wet back' was somebody who swam across the Rio Grande (from South to North and at night).!

This heating is working really well. Holding 10000 litres at 17 degrees steady as . Doing the job of 4 kw's of heaters we couldn't be happier. We will install a second series of pipes in the same firebox for heating our next syustem :)

Guess you wont be needing a solar array then.... :( :D

Some times the simplest solutions are the best... seemingly efficient as well...

Well maybe not carbon efficient.... I'll shut up now.....

true, maybe not carbon efficient :P , but considering our plans to plant perhaps 500 trees specifically for firewood over the next 5 years, from what I have learned, it is the only carbon neutral way of heating your home/water.
It certainly doesn't negate my desire for a solar system, once all the ups and downs are ironed out and an efficient overnight heating can be incorporated. I really think this is the key- not so much the higher temps... silvers are jumping out of the water and feeding 3 times a day and growing noticably at 17 degrees... although I will be stoked if mark two can get 5000 litres to 22/23 and hold it there. Mark 2 should be installed within the next few weeks with a bit of luck.
