Dunno about the 150mm pipe, seems the same to sand across the face, so I'm assuming it's OK.

Yes, the skin was so crispy it'd make an asian proud - not bad for a bird over 2kg dressed (two more likely lads are voicing their opinion now!)
50mm shower drains from each bed (4), into a common 50mm drain. 40mm pressure pipe as standpipe.
And yes, some experimentation yet to do with the pump bypass wrt aeration/circulation.

This works well, with no medium in the bed the drain can't keep up with the water coming through the holes (no standpipe) and it seems the same with the medium in and the standpipe removed.
