i've been at my ap system last weekend
the ph is around 8.0 and i brought it down to 7.6 with urea, and i think i'll see some more progress on plants once i get back home this weekend
the system is cycled and i'm bringing 50 more fish this weekend to help it kick it further on

have i told you i lost those two crabs? i think that the fish killed them or maybe the nitrate spike that was happening(~100mg/l), i don't know, but they are greatly missed. my brother was sad too as he really loved those two guys...will do better next time

I just caught up on your system. Great work. Love when a project helps bring a family together.

Tell us more about your other project plans. I of course have a pee ponic system going, Most people have no idea that it isn't just a simple hydroponic system though.

Good luck with it all.

nice to see u all, thank you EKB and gnash!
TCL i got perfect motivation with ur peeponics, was wondering for a long time if my pee would work, but was too concerned with the pathogens etc... but as most of the things, industry supports that kind of lies too:)
basically my plan is to use any kind of living being that lives in water to fertilize it and get eggs(duckaponix), fish etc. along with veggies out of that system.
permaculture is a must for home gardening, so i'm planning to teach other ppl when i get the hold on that
vermicomposting is on its way as i said
alternative energy sources(in the future with my brother perhaps and a friend-since we have a workshop buisness already at home)
basically to get my future home as efficient as possible and to be able to teach and sell that knowledge to other people so i can sattisfy my money needs too, which can be pretty low with an efficient home and knowledge.

can't wait to taste the AP veggies!

Hi molj, great pics. Ur beans are showing signs of iron deficiency in their new growth. Chuck a few rusty nails into the base of ur fishtank or get some powder and add a teaspoon or so once a month.

It is very satisfying to eat a meal that is completely home grown. Or even just partly home grown. Keep up the good work.

twinT: exactly, was planning to add some, i bought it last time(chelated Fe), i think it goes along with high pH that prevents the Fe or Zn uptake, i think. thanks for the notice and for the visit!

tcl: we've been growing our own veggies since i remember, i just never liked the constant hard work that the soil needs, for the results that were given.
thank you for your support and for your great ideas!

Watch that pumpkin vine, it will try to take over the whole system if it's like the one in mine!

yeah i know dave, she always gives me the creepy look! that's why i got salad and basil there, they can get the light that the pumpkin doesn't use, because of her long leafe stems, and besides i have no idea what kind of pumpkin that is hehe, i forgot, i just wanna eat!
if you got a problem, whip it!

plants are awsome beings!

another future plant is to begin breeding fish needed for warm and for cold times, because there is a lack of offer on the market, no one does it, except for trout fingerlings. so an AP breeding system follows.
my dad is planning to renovate the roof, and i was thinking that we could install glass on the peak of the roof for the light to come in for the breeding AP with artificial lighting aside.

C1 thank you, i'm doing my best :flower:
